TILBURG/OISTERWIJK, 19 mei 2025 – De kantoren VRF Advocaten uit Oisterwijk en De Voort Advocaten | Mediators uit Tilburg gaan per 1 juli samen. Hierdoor ontstaat het grootste advocatenkantoor in flexwerk en medezeggenschap in het zuiden van Nederland.
Door de krachtenbundeling verhogen de kantoren hun slagkracht en doen ze mee in de noodzakelijke schaalvergroting binnen de advocatuur, een trend die volgens de advocaten de komende jaren verder zal doorzetten. Ook willen ze talentvolle juristen binden aan Brabant door interessante specialisaties aan te bieden.
De Voort Advocaten | Mediators is met name gespecialiseerd in ondernemingsrecht, arbeidsrecht, medezeggenschapsrecht, bestuursrecht, faillissementsrecht, huur- en vastgoedrecht, personen- en familierecht en staat nationale en internationale bedrijven, ondernemers, overheidsorganen en ondernemingsraden bij. VRF Advocaten is gespecialiseerd in flexwerk, is in Nederland marktleider in flexrecht en staat met name uitzendbureaus, payrollondernemingen, detacheerders, recruitmentbedrijven en inleners van flexibele arbeidskrachten bij. Na hun samengaan telt het kantoor circa 50 medewerkers, van wie de helft advocaten en juristen.
Het kleinere VRF merkt dat cliënten steeds vaker vraagstukken aandragen waarbij een multidisciplinaire aanpak vereist is. Ook worden wetten en regelingen steeds ingewikkelder. Behalve flexrecht is vaak ook ondernemingsrecht of vastgoed- en huurrecht nodig. Nu al werkt VRF daarvoor samen met andere specialisten. “Na het samengaan hebben we alles in huis om cliënten die multidisciplinaire aanpak te kunnen bieden”, zeggen partners Sander van Riel en Hendarin Mouselli. De Voort Advocaten | Mediators zocht juist een partner om de sectie arbeidsrecht te versterken. ,,Sander en Hendarin zijn ondernemende advocaten en we zien hun komst als een versterking van onze maatschap”, zegt partner Thijs Schraven. Samen hebben de kantoren straks een sectie arbeids- en medezeggenschapsrecht met tien gespecialiseerde advocaten en juristen, van wie er twee gepromoveerd zijn. Binnenkort promoveert nog een collega. ,,Dat is heel bijzonder in deze tak van sport”, zegt partner Joost van Mierlo, zelf Dr.
Bij het samengaan van de kantoren verhuist VRF naar Tilburg en sluit het kantoor in Oisterwijk. Beide kantoren gaan verder onder de naam De Voort Advocaten | Mediators. Daar is voor gekozen omdat De Voort een vertrouwde naam in de regio Tilburg heeft, die teruggaat tot halverwege de vorige eeuw. “We willen de kracht van die naam graag behouden”, stellen de advocaten.
Het nieuwe kantoor wil ook een kweekvijver zijn van nieuw, jong talent in het zuiden van Nederland. Volgens de advocaten onderscheidt het kantoor zich qua persoonlijke ontwikkeling en werksfeer ten opzichte van kantoren in de Randstad. ,,Wat we vaak terug horen van uitgevlogen collega’s is de goede werk-privé balans en de ruimte voor sfeer binnen het kantoor. Het gaat niet alleen om uren maken”, zegt Van Mierlo.
VRF kwam in 2017 landelijk in het nieuws toen het de eerste virtuele vrouwelijk juriste van Nederland lanceerde: Claire. Het programma zou automatisch contracten voor ondernemers checken, maar de foutmarge bleek toen nog te hoog. Tijdens corona werd Claire daarom een webshop met circa honderd modeldocumenten voor ondernemers. Door de samenwerking met De Voort en de huidige, snelle ontwikkeling van kunstmatige intelligentie (AI) verwachten ze Claire verder te kunnen ontwikkelen tot een echte virtuele juriste, die ondernemers straks kan ondersteunen bij het opstellen en controleren van contracten. ,,We hebben daar al testen mee gedaan en ik verwacht dat we hiermee het leven van onze cliënten een stuk makkelijker kunnen maken”, zegt partner Hendarin Mouselli.

Largest law firm in flexible work and employee participation in the south of the Netherlands
TILBURG/OISTERWIJK, 19th of May 2025 – The law firms VRF Advocaten based in Oisterwijk and De Voort Advocaten | Mediators based in Tilburg will join forces on the 1st of July 2025. This will create the largest law firm in flexible work and employee participation in the south of the Netherlands.
By joining forces, the firms are increasing their firepower and are engaging in the necessary increase in scale within the legal profession, a trend that the attorneys of both firms believe will continue in the coming years. They also aim to attract talented lawyers to the province of Brabant by offering interesting specialisations.
De Voort Advocaten | Mediators specialises in corporate law, employment law, employee participation law, administrative law, bankruptcy law, tenancy and real estate law, personal and family law and assists national and international companies, entrepreneurs, government bodies and works councils. VRF Advocaten specialises in flexible work, is the market leader in flexible law in the Netherlands and mainly assists employment agencies, payroll companies, secondment agencies, recruitment companies and hirers of flexible workers. After their merger, the firm will have approximately 50 employees, half of whom are attorneys and lawyers.
The smaller VRF has noticed that clients are increasingly raising legal matters that require a multidisciplinary approach. Laws and regulations are also becoming increasingly complicated. Apart from an expertise in flex law, an expertise in corporate law or real estate and tenancy law is often also required. VRF is already working with other specialists for this. “After joining forces, we will have everything we need to be able to offer clients that multidisciplinary approach,” say partners Sander van Riel and Hendarin Mouselli. De Voort Advocaten | Mediators was actually looking for a partner to strengthen the employment law department. “Sander and Hendarin are attorneys with an enterprising spirit, and we see their arrival as a strengthening of our joint professional practice,” says partner Thijs Schraven. Together, the law firms will soon have a practice group on employment and employee participation law with ten specialised attorneys and lawyers, two of whom have PhDs. Another colleague is in the closing stages of receiving the PhD-title. “That is extraordinary in the legal profession,” says partner Joost van Mierlo, with a PhD-title of his own.
When the offices merge, VRF will move to Tilburg and close its office in Oisterwijk. Both firms will continue under the name De Voort Advocaten | Mediators. This was chosen because De Voort has a trusted name in the Tilburg region, dating back to the middle of the last century. “We would like to retain the strength of that name,” the attorneys state.
The new office also aspires to become a hub for new, young talent in the south of the Netherlands. According to the attorneys, the firm distinguishes itself in terms of personal development and working atmosphere compared to law firms in the Randstad. “What we often hear from colleagues who have left our law firm is that there is good work-life balance and there is plenty of room for a welcoming and collegial atmosphere. It’s not just about putting in the hours,” says Van Mierlo.
VRF made national news in 2017 when it launched the first virtual female lawyer in the Netherlands: Claire. The program was aimed to automatically check contracts for entrepreneurs, but the margin of error turned out to be too high at the time. During the COVID-19 epidemic, Claire therefore evolved into a web shop instead with about a hundred model documents for entrepreneurs. Through the collaboration with De Voort and the current, rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI), it is expected that Claire can be developed further into a real virtual lawyer, who will soon be able to support entrepreneurs in drafting and checking contracts. “We have already done tests with this, and I expect that we can make the lives of our clients a lot easier,” says partner Hendarin Mouselli.
